Apple continues to make great strides in artificial intelligence integrations. According to Mark Gurman, the company will not only be content with ChatGPT and Apple Intelligence, but will also join forces with Gemini. Let’s take a detailed look at what Gurman says.
Apple may announce Google Gemini deal this fall
Gurman reports that Apple will announce at least one other deal this fall, most likely with Google Gemini. Anthropic is also in the rumor mill, and he says that Apple may make a deal with the company as well. Meta’s AI, Llama, is not on Apple’s deal list because Apple has deemed the chatbot inadequate.
Apple plans to use AI not only to improve its hardware products, but also to generate direct profits. Gurman suggests that Apple may eventually offer subscription-only Apple Intelligence features. It is likely to take some time to roll out these features.
Apple Intelligence will initially only be available for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, so the initial release is likely to trigger a massive iPhone upgrade frenzy. The company will also monetize in-app purchases from chatbot subscriptions from its AI partners.
As Apple slowly rolls out its own generative AI system, third-party AI services will serve as an interim solution for the company. This is both a sensible strategy for the company and means more choice for us, the users.
In short, Apple could announce a deal with Google Gemini this fall. What do you think? Please don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
